Pain in the shoulder usually results from the structures that
surround the shoulder joint (articular capsule, ligaments, tendons,
muscles and bag). The articulation itself contains cartilage which can
wear out or injury and cause pain. To apply the right treatment it is
necessary to know the cause of the pain. In some cases it is difficult
to diagnose the exact cause of shoulder pain and it may be necessary to
go to a specialist. Special tests, such as CT scan, an MRI or
Arthroscopy (a procedure in which special instruments are used to
observe the interior of the joint through a small incision) may be
required.
Shoulder pain can be treated initially with a sling or an immobilizer shoulder and anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. It is possible that you need to do specific exercises for the shoulder. If the pain is severe or does not go away after a few weeks, it is important that you go to see a specialist.
CARE AT HOME:.
If put you a sling, use it for as long as instructed by the doctor. If you are not sure how long to use it, ask. If the sling is too loose, adjust it so that your forearm is parallel to the ground and you feel that the shoulder has a good support.
You can use acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil) to control the pain, unless they have prescribed other medications against pain.
Note: If you have chronic renal or liver disease, or has ever had a stomach ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding, consult your doctor before taking these medications.

The joints of the shoulder become rigid if left in a sling too long. Range of motion exercises often begin themselves during the first 10 days after the injury. When to start them, check with your doctor about the type of exercises you need to do and. The sling can be removed for showering or bathing.
Set a CONTROL visit to your doctor, or as instructed by our medical staff, if it does not begin to improve in the next 5 days.
