Breastfeeding Tips to Help You

By Shun Smith

Breastfeeding tips come any cash a dozen.

Everyone has one.

Even individuals who have never breastfed! And you can imagine what their tip is: "You should stop breastfeeding" or "Just provide him with formula".

No breastfeeding mother desires to hear that! Especially a fresh one.

So I'm calling all breastfeeding moms, regardless of how long you breastfed, to give your favorite tip.

Maybe breastfeeding tips someone gave you, something like that you figured out from experience.

What made life easier for you as a breastfeeding mom?

Here are a couple breastfeeding tips that I've learned along the way:

* Nurse with a cup water or some type of liquid close to you. (For some reason I get really thirsty when nursing my baby. Maybe it's from hearing him gulp down milk!)

* Go bra-less sometimes, or shirt-less if you're in your own home! (This gives you and your baby quick access to your breast without the headache of a bra)

* Pump one breast while nursing your baby on the other if you're trying to store milk. This will make it so easy to pump since your baby can stimulate your let down a lot faster compared to a pump and you're killing two birds with one stone; saving milk and feeding your infant at the same time!

* Don't listen to naysayers. Whilst they mean good (sometimes), women who have never breastfed really don't understand breastfeeding.

They really don't. One of many Breastfeeding Tips: Breastfeeding babies don't try to eat, poop, or burp exactly like a formula fed baby.

* Don't keep formula at home. Even if you feel like, well........in the event that. No, that will give you an easy out when ever you don't feel like breastfeeding........ in that case your milk supply are going to go down and then you will wonder why your baby is hungry continuously and if she is getting enough milk then you will really start formula feeding and subsequently thing you know is no more breast milk for baby...... (breath)......See. One can of formula can cause all types of problems!

* Wear something around your neck while breastfeeding. Eventually, once your baby learns utilizing his hands, the free arm that's sticking out when you are breastfeeding him will quickly realize its way across one's body and to your free nipple. There, your child will find a nice little "ball" to roll around in their itty bitty finger, irritating the heck out of you!

So although not a requirement to wear something around your neck, just like a necklace you don't mind him pulling on, the earlier you do it the better, to be able to train them. Because moving their little pay to that other nipple becomes habit real quick.

Now it's your turn.
